"Learning" (學) means exploring and studying something new. It is the realm of knowledge.
"Practice" (習) means repeating what you've learned until it becomes your own. It is the realm of action.
I suspect that human value going forward will depend heavily on the skill of practice.
Until now, learning has largely determined a person's value.
Think of academic pedigree, educational credentials, and one's major.
We placed great value on knowing a lot, but AI has caused the value of owning knowledge to plummet.
The realm of practice, however, is one that nothing other than humans can take away.
A robot may jump higher and farther than a human can, but it doesn't look beautiful.
Playing guitar, singing, doing parkour, climbing, playing poker.
Even if robots end up doing music, sports, and gambling better than humans, the realm of practice will still be left to people.
Because people have a reason to do these things, and robots have no reason to.
And because it is beautiful when a person does them.
