For the unemployed, a good side hustle is delivering for Coupang Eats or Baemin.
Here's what I see as the upside of delivery work:
- You get exercise
- Extremely flexible hours
- An easy sense of accomplishment
For your mode of transport, I recommend a regular bicycle. If you're thinking purely about money, an e-bike might be the better call. But factoring in the exercise, I recommend a regular bike. Of course, if your neighborhood is nothing but hills, you'll have to go electric.
A motorcycle is overkill. If you already own one, maybe it's fine, but once you're on a motorcycle you're basically in full-time territory. Again — you should be approaching this as a side hustle.
For a bike, I use a Samchuly Justin 21D. I bought it for around 500,000 won.
You'll need to mount a delivery bag on the back of the bike. I went with a Totu 48L. With this one you'll want to avoid large pizzas and sushi. But as I said, this is a side hustle, so it's not a big deal. If you were doing it full-time you'd have to worry about your acceptance rate, but since it's a side gig, forget the acceptance rate and only take the calls you can actually handle.
