Dive into the jump from a low, forward-leaning position → hips up high (essential if you don't want to clip the obstacle)
You have to bend your upper body way down. Like you're bowing
Your shoulders and eyes should be at the height of the obstacle as you take off
Arms back right before the jump — use the swing for momentum
Go loose on the last step of the run-up — sink down, dropping your shoulders and eyes toward the obstacle. The jump power comes from releasing the tension as you sink
After takeoff, keep your legs stretched out behind you until you're over — the moment you bend your knees, your chest comes up and you won't clear it. Head and chest stay facing the ground the whole way through
Hand support
Jump first; the hands are there as backup, as support
Push through the hands too, springing yourself off and forward
Supplementary training
Arm pushing strength (holding yourself up is the key)
Hand stand
Pike push-ups
Hip mobility → hip flexor
Frog jump, bunny hop, ground kong
Tuck jump
ground kong
Hip mobility work, iliopsoas strengthening
Mobility matters less than you'd think
You don't necessarily need the flexibility to squat down deep
As you jump, your hips rise, your upper body goes horizontal, and that clears the space for your legs to pass through
Your hands leave the surface just before your legs pass them
Start from the ground and practice in slow, incremental stages, and anyone can learn it
